RME ABQ, LLC is a consulting structural engineering firm located in Albuquerque, NM. The firm provides structural engineering services on a wide variety of project types to a variety of clients, including architects and other design professionals, government agencies, contractors, and private individuals, among others. Recently organized as the successor to the Albuquerque office of Red Mountain Engineers, Inc., RME ABQ has retained the same staff and capability for providing high quality structural engineering services throughout the southwest.

The officers of RME ABQ, James E. Kreis, P.E., President and David H. Sullens, P.E., Vice President, each have 18 years of continuous service as principals in RME ABQ and its predecessor firms. RME ABQ’s staff of experienced project engineers and drafters, each having more than 10 years of design office experience, ensure that highly experienced and competent staff will be doing the production work on each project. The firm has a team-oriented approach and is dedicated to providing outstanding service to its clients and to project owners.

RME ABQ continually strives to stay abreast of the latest industry developments and trends including new construction materials and methods, engineering design software, building code changes and information technology beneficial to the engineering design office. Structural engineering software is utilized where appropriate to facilitate productivity and accuracy of engineering design, including RAM Structural System, RISA 2D and 3D, PCA ADOSS and PCA MATS, PTDATA Plus, Retain Pro and also a number of in-house programs written in MATH CAD and Microsoft Excel. Drafting software utilized includes AutoCad 2008, Revit Structure, RAM CADstudio and Micro Station 8.0.
procedures
Scheduling of projects for the office is accomplished with the aid of Microsoft Project software. The firm performs rotational computer backups daily, weekly, monthly and yearly to help ensure that critical project data loss is minimized in the event of computer failure, power outage, fire or theft. Monthly tape backups are stored off-site. The firm carries professional Liability Insurance (Errors and Omissions) and all professional and technical staff have participated in loss prevention training and seminars. In addition, RME ABQ’s predecessor firms have participated in two on-site professional practice peer reviews, which have served to improve RME ABQ’s technical and administrative procedures.

RME ABQ engineers are currently licensed in the states of New Mexico, Arizona, Texas and Virginia.
